General questions about the product:
What is the advantage of goodguards drinking water treatment? Plus

The biggest advantage, of course, is that you can drink your water carefree, directly from the tap. The coordinated, compact filter system reliably ensures an immense reduction of pollutants, germs, and bacteria. You save yourself the purchase of bottled water and the unnecessary waste associated with it, make good use of the water from the tank, and thereby create additional self-sufficiency.

What do I need if I want to filter my water in the camper? Plus

We offer you a complete solution for most problems that could arise with drinking water.

This set consists of a membrane-type activated carbon filter – the Reinguard, a limescale absorber – the Kalkguard, and a UVC module for disinfection – the Keimguard.

All components can also be installed individually as required. However, the 3 components are perfectly matched and offer the optimal equipment for a durable, reliable, and at the same time compact drinking water treatment solution in this combination.

Can I also fill up with water from rivers or lakes? Plus

In general, this is possible, but since the water often contains sediment or coarse suspended solids, a pre-filter (sediment filter) should definitely be installed when filling or directly after the tank to remove coarse dirt from the water before filtering with the "goodguards" and thus preserve the longevity of the "goodguards".

How long does Germguard last? Plus

Keimguard has a lifespan of up to 10,000 operating hours.

How often do I need to buy new filters? Plus

Our activated carbon filter – the Reinguard and the lime absorber – the Kalkguard are housed in V4A stainless steel casings with replaceable cartridges that can be easily exchanged. These cartridges have a lifespan of up to 6000 liters.

If the system is not used daily, we recommend changing the cartridges after 6 months.

How do I know when to replace the cartridge? Plus

The filter capacity of a filter is up to 6000 liters. It depends on the incoming water. For example, water with many suspended solids (sediment) reduces the filter capacity. A replacement interval of every 6 months is recommended if you are not permanently traveling in your RV and do not use your RV regularly.

The service life of a filter can be extended. The prerequisite for this is that the filter is removed from the housing and stored dry when it is not used for a longer period. If the water flow is very low, a filter change will be necessary.

Can I install the goodguards myself? Plus

The installation is generally quite simple and should be manageable for most people with a little DIY skill and our installation instructions.

If you prefer to hire a professional for the installation, you can find a nearby RV or boat dealer or one of the many camper manufacturers in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Benelux in our constantly growing list of installation partners, who can help you with the installation. In addition, we are also continuously working on providing you with relevant installation, assembly, and know-how videos to assist you with any questions you may have.
